Participants will gain a nuanced understanding of complex EA topics and develop the skills to critically analyse and contribute to discussions in the EA community.
You’ll also have the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, engage in thoughtful discussions, and explore ways to make a meaningful impact.

Participants are expected to commit to 6 weekly sessions, which last around one hour. Additionally, there may be reading, research, or critical thinking tasks required outside of these sessions, amounting to around 3 hours a week.

While it is highly recommended to complete the Introductory Scholars Program first, it is not mandatory if you have equivalent experience or knowledge in Effective Altruism. You should be comfortable with basic EA concepts before applying.

Applications are usually opened a few weeks before the start of each semester. You can apply through the EA Manchester website by completing the online form. The application process includes questions about your prior experience with EA, your motivations for joining the program, and your specific areas of interest.

The selection process is more rigorous than for the introductory program, as it aims to ensure that participants have the necessary background and commitment to engage with the material at a deeper level.

After completing the program, participants are encouraged to continue their engagement with EA Manchester by joining our committee and comtinuing to attend speaker events and socials.
